Boot Season is here... I'm not happy about it but I have to deal with it. What better way to deal than some new boots! These little beauties are from Target - they come in 3 colors and are quite comfortable.
I scored this little beauty of a snakeskin handbag while strolling along the Siene River in Paris. I saw it hanging at one of the green boxes filled with antique treasures, books, prints and other fun stuff. I stopped in my tracks and snagged it. It's a gorgeous vintage bag with great quality and I just love the story of it. I've only worn it out once but it brought a smile to my face when pulling it out. Best part - the man I bought it from was a total gem and it was about $30!
I did find you some other great snakeskin handbag options - its a big trend this fall!
I spent a lovely week and a half frolicking around France and I had the absolute best time! I seriously thought I pulled a face muscle from smiling so much - from seeing the Eiffel Tower for the first time, to eating all the cheese plates and sipping all the Rose. France holds a special place in my heart and I can't wait to go back and experience it all over again. I had so much fun planning outfits for this trip I just had to share. A full trip report will be coming soon with what we did, where we ate and where I shopped - so stay tuned! Merci!
Contrast or Two-Tone is a huge trend this spring. You can find it in everything from tops to dresses and accessories. I'm loving it SO much and can't wait for some warmer weather to hit so I can pull out these new pieces I just got from Zara!
Mules are a major trend for spring! They are so quick to slip on and super comfortable. You can really wear them so many ways and mix and match with so many outfits. I suggest to have a little fun and snag yourself a pair that adds a pop of color! I've rounded up some of my favorites!
The first official day of spring has happened. There's snow on the east coast! Chicago has snow in the forecast - what is happening?! Let's think warm sunny thoughts and in a couple of months we will all be running around in swim suits enjoying summer (fingers crossed)!
Target has come out with a ton of new swim suits and I had to share some of my favorites! Super affordable and fashionable - what's not to love?
Hubby and I spent a long weekend in Charleston back in December to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I fell totally in love with this city that I was looking at real estate when I got home. It's has so much to offer and I can't wait to head back to explore more (especially when it's warmer)!
We stayed at The Vendue Inn and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. They greeted us with glasses of bubbles - LOVE! We had the most delightful doorman give us a tour of the hotel and showed us our suite. The hotel is an arts hotel, there are different art exhibits throughout and it was a cool experience to walk around and take it all in. They also have an on site artist who is working on various pieces of art and you can watch him work.
They then brought us a bottle of champs since we were celebrating - seriously already winning me over and we had been there all of 10 mins. The room was charming in every possible way with a bottle of sherry for a night cap and nightly chocolates and cookies. All the details had me gushing!
Charleston is a city you can just wander from meal to meal and we did indulge in some really amazing eats and drinks while we were there.
Some of my recommendations of where we went to dine and drink!
Happy Hour & Oysters:
Pearlz Oyster Bar
Darling Oyster Bar
Brunch/Lunch & Dinner:
FIG (hand's down you must eat here)
Poogan's Porch (more traditional southern)
Obstinate Daughter (Sullivan's Island)
Callie's Hot Little Biscuit
Rooftop at The Vendue Inn
Griffin's (dive bar)
The Gin Joint
Poe's Tavern (Sullivan's Island)
We did the tour of High Wire Distillery and it was a great place to check out if you want to learn a little and have some cocktails. Very small batch place with great knowledge.
I did a little shopping at Candle Fish and it was a candle shopping experience like I've never experienced. Worth a visit just to take it all in. They have the scent 'bar' where you share what scents you like - dislike and they start pulling candles for you to smell - they don't have names just numbers. They also do candle making classes - we didn't do but thought it was unique!
I went home with a few and some other treasures.
Sadly, it rained the majority of our trip but we still loved every moment exploring. We took a trip to Sullivan's Island for brunch and walking around the beach. We also strolled the battery and checked out a lot of the houses. The walking tours are great if that's your kinda thing. Shopping on King street has a lot to offer along with some great antique stores.
I've had a number of travels this summer, everything from road trips, to long flights and I wanted to share my travel uniform for a stylish and comfortable trip. This is my go to no matter where I'm headed.
